Lead singers, Mayana and Vikash, from the Saltspring Ananda kirtan band, will be the guest singers for tonight’s community kirtan.
Not only will they be offering kirtan chants, but they will also share stories of meeting their teacher, Baba Hari Dass (now passed).

Mantras are positive uplifting names and phrases which awaken the inner light and love within yourself. Kirtan uses repetitive chanting with music to foster that awakening.
Venue is at Open Door Yoga on East 14th and Main St (entrance on East 14th Ave, address is 2940 Main).
Join us for an uplifting evening of music followed by a community potluck.
$15 energy exchange.

Funds raised support impoverished families in India and support the continuation and musical/community efforts of Vancouver Community Kirtan. The mission of Vancouver Community Kirtan is to offer a multi-faith, multi-deity, non-sectarian space for us to remember the goodness of God, to provide a venue for community kirtan leaders to lead, and for the upliftment of the community.

Parking is available in the neighbourhood, both free and metered.
Bring some food to share if you want to join in the munchies afterwards. Stay for the potluck even if you haven’t brought any food!

Kirtan is a spiritual practice whose benefits are fostered by a certain amount of silence. Parents: please bring children only who you know will not run around or make noise while we are chanting. Children under 18 are free to join us.
