The next community kirtan / potluck happens on Saturday Sept 21st in a beautiful mystery location in urban Vancouver.

Come join us, sing, and fill your heart with love and spirit.

Kirtan is a call-and-response sing along / chanting of the Divine Names.

We take a multi-faith approach so while many chants will be in Sanskrit (don’t worry, we will teach how to pronounce), chants could also come from Christianity, Buddhism, Sufism, Judaism, etc.

Chants generally follow a call-and-response format where the facilitator sings one line. Then the audience sings that line in response.

An organ like instrument called the harmonium is generally the lead instrument. A guitar can also be the lead instrument.

With percussion, a chant might go through different tempos from slow to fast and then back to slow.

Participants generally feel calm, balanced and uplifted.
